Zen, Me and Tai Chi

I am a Zen practitioner since 2013. I am still at the beginner’s level of practice of zazen and really feel happy about it. I study Zen literature by Zen monks like Dogen Zenji, Shunryu Suzuki, Thich Nhat Hanh, Ryokan etc. My practice has helped me gain control over my mind and lower blood pressure amidst a chaotic life. When I started searching for myself by Self Inquiry (asking “Who am I?” ) a few years ago, it was easier for me to keep concentrating. Mooji satsang helped me see Who am I. Thanks to Mooji.

I have been practicing Tai Chi for a few years now. Still at the simple beginners stage and loving it every day with Chinese Zen music. The feeling is awesome. I would recommend everyone to learn Tai Chi as it keeps oneself fit at any age.

I have realized that Self Inquiry should be the ultimate goal in life. Starting it with Zazen can be a very good way to bring mind under control. And practicing Tai Chi can be very helpful to keep oneself fit.

Note: Zazen means ‘seated meditation’. Za is Japanese for sit/seated.
Zen is the Japanese pronunciation of  the Chinese word Chan, which is the Chinese pronunciation of the Indian word Dhyana, meaning, yes, Meditation.
